Samsung Gallery application is has been redesigned as per the Samsung’s new design philosophy of One UI, which looks absolutely stunning. This app is exclusively available only for the Samsung devices running the Android version 7 or higher. What is Samsung Push Service? If your Samsung device is running with minimum Android 7 and your phone didn’t come with the gallery app installed on it, you can find the Samsung Gallery apk on the internet easily. Then once you proceed with installing, a pop up will ask you to enable the “unknown source” option from “setting.” That’s it, your Samsung Gallery apk file has been installed now.
Samsung Gallery, or Google Photos?
Most devices come with more than one gallery app, one is the Android’s native app, Google Photos. And another is the device manufacturer’s pre-built gallery app, which is “Samsung Gallery” for the Samsung devices. You may wonder why one device would come with multiple apps as prebuilt for the same function. The reason is simple, there are basically two companies behind almost every Android device. Like Samsung Galaxy 10, which is made by Samsung, but the operating system it runs on is Android, and that’s a Google product. Hence both the companies added their own app for the same job. Here pixel devices are different. As on a pixel device, both hardware and software are made by Google, it comes with a single app for a particular function. Now, if you own a Samsung device, deciding which one should be used, Samsung Gallery or Google Photos, depends on your preferences. Many people don’t like device’s default apps, so they don’t use the Samsung Gallery app, instead just go with the Google Photos. However, lots of other people use the Samsung Gallery app due to its clean interface and excellent photo management, which Google Photos lacks. Let’s see what are the pros and cons of both similar apps and what you should use in your device as your default gallery app.
Pros and cons of Google photo: Google Photos can be accessed from any device, Android, iOS, desktop, and directly from a browser. It comes with unlimited cloud storage backup feature, which is unique to Google Photos only – no other third-party device-only gallery app offers such an unlimited storage option. However, this unlimited option has a drawback too. It allows you to save your photos up to 16 megapixels only. Now, as we already said, Google Photos can be accessed from any device; hence it gives you the flexibility of downloading and viewing your photos on any device you want, not only the Android.
Pros and cons of Samsung Gallery: First and foremost, Samsung gallery has a very user-friendly layout while Google Photos lack that sophistication. The way Samsung Gallery organizes the photos and videos, it makes the finding a particular file very easier. On the other hand, if you have lots of files in Google photos, there’s no simple way to find a specific file due to the bad organization (only date wise) or we better we say, no organization at all. Coming to cloud storage, though Samsung Gallery doesn’t offer “unlimited” storage option like Google Photos, it does provide a limited cloud storage option.
